...and so has Phoebe. More so than before. Just read these parts from Still Charmed and Kicking and tell me if you don't cringe...
Piper and Phoebe of old would *never* say anything like that. They've *always* put innocent's before themselves. Yelling at Paige because she went to stop a demon? Because she was going to save someone? She's suppose to IGNORE it?! Oh please.
And Phoebe's become beyond pathetic. The word "engage" bothers her.
This next part makes me cringe more..
I wish Gram's would have just slapped Piper for talking to her that way. I hope any of this isn't included in the episode airing, or else it will be a sad day.
Piper or Phoebe haven't ever talked to Gram's that way before. Only when Gram's was not taking a closeness to Wyatt and when she kept Paige's secret. But that was later in the episodes, not at first apperance.
And Phoebe says "We've paid our dues as witches." Yes, they have. But she makes it sound like it's completely taken over her life. I don't remember it ever stopping her from having a job, having plenty of boyfriends and other things.. same for Paige.
I don't know what to think of Piper, and Phoebe was never this selfish. The only one I can like right now is Paige, who is the only one that wants to still help people. I really hope this selfish-ness in Piper and Phoebe.. especially Piper, goes away after this episode airs.
Paige is at the table with a scrying crystal over a map. Piper and Phoebe enter, clearly upset. They found out about the demon that Paige confronted and tell her she's out of her mind. Paige tells them she can explain, but Piper, highly upset, snatches the scrying crystal out of her hand. Piper: "What is this? What are you doing?" Paige tries to tell them about the girl but Phoebe interrupts telling her they aren't supposed to use magic, let alone fight demons. Phoebe: "If anybody finds out we're alive, we're screwed!" Piper: "Do you have a death wish, is that it?" Paige: "If you'd just shut up for a second and let me explain -- (off their silence) Thank you. First of all, I did not intentionally try to engage a demon." Phoebe, sensitive, tells her not to use the word "engage". Paige continues, telling them she was tired of the jingle in her head so she thought she would respond to it. Piper tells her that she's not supposed to respond to anything anymore, but Paige tells her she can't just ignore a cry for help. Phoebe: "Yes you can --not only that, you have to! For all our sakes. We've had this conversation." Paige tells her she doesn't get these calls and it's not so easy. After they calm down a bit they discuss what happen with the demon and the next course of action. Paige tells them the demon didn't know who she was and was scared off by some young chick. Piper and Phoebe exchange a curious look.

Paige is still explaining about the young girl at the movie theater. Piper asks if she thinks it was a witch. Paige explains she is not sure and Phoebe suggests that maybe she's the one who called her. Paige: "She didn?t look like she needed any of my help, trust me." Phoebe turns to Piper to suggest that it could have been a bad witch. Piper: (It gets worse) "Boy, if that's true and she figures us out..." Paige answers that the girl didn't care about her she was only there for the demon. Piper is still unsure that the girl didn't I.D. her. Grams: "Oh, for crying out loud, give her a break, will you?" They all turn to see Grams approaching from the window. Phoebe is the first to ask what Grams is doing here. Grams: "Keeping you from ganging up on her, that's what." Piper: "Okay, you know what? You're dead, this is none of your concern." Grams tells her it is if her legacy is at stake. Phoebe: "Don't guilt us, Grams, we've more than paid our dues as witches." Grams tells them they have every right to live normal lives but just because they want to, doesn't mean they can. Piper: "Yeah, well you're a little late with that speech." Grams: "For you two, perhaps, but not for Paige. Whether or not you succeed remains to be seen, but you can't deny that she's being called by somebody -- (pointed, to Paige) And you can't deny it anymore either..." Paige barely has a moment to absorb that, when the jingle in her head returns, causing her to wince.
